Actor Gerry (Gerard) Parkes died

The Muppet website Tough Pigs has announced that actor Gerry Parkes (also credited as Gerard Parkes) has died. Parkes was well known for his role in Jim Henson’s tv series ‘Fraggle Rock’ were Parkes played the human character Doc with his puppet dog Sprocket.

Parkes also played in ‘Shining Time Station’ in the ’90s, 'Storm of the Century' and had a lot of supporting roles, for example in ‘Night Heat’ and 'Cagney & Lacey’. His last performance was in ‘The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day’ in 2009.

Parkes died in a retirement home in Toronto last Sunday. How he died is not mentioned. Gerry Parkes was 90 years old.
