Karolina Wydra cast opposite Rhea Seehorn in Vince Gilligan's new Apple TV+ series

Karolina Wydra has landed a starring role opposite Rhea Seehorn in Vince Gilligan's upcoming Apple TV+ series. The untitled project from the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, which is described as a mixed, grounded genre drama, has a straight-to-series order for two seasons.



As usual, Gilligan (pictured) is keeping all information about the series under lock and key, so Apple TV+ and production studio Sony Pictures Television declined comment.

The new series is believed to be a departure from the world of drugs and crime explored in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. The series has been jokingly nicknamed 'Breaking Good'.

“After 15 years, I figured it was time to take a break from writing antiheroes… and who’s more heroic than the brilliant Rhea Seehorn?” Gilligan said at the time of the series’ announcement.

The series is a fun, mild science fiction series told from the point of view of Seehorn's character. The series is said to be set in our world, yet gives a nod to it, bending reality and focusing on people and exploring the human condition in an unexpected, surprising way. It has been compared to classic films such as E.T. the Extra-Terristrial.



Wydra (photo) plays the character Ana, an optimistic young woman. The series is preparing for production or has already begun filming in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Gilligan is showrunner and executive producer through his High Bridge Productions. Former Sony Pictures TV president Jeff Frost is also an executive producer, along with Diane Mercer. Jenn Carroll produces for High Bridge.

The project reunites Wydra with Sony TV where she appeared in Prime Video's Sneaky Pete, produced by Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston, and in FX's Justified. Wydra played Vampire Violet in HBO's True Blood and appeared in Showtime's Twin Peaks reboot from David Lynch. She also appeared in a recurring role on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. from ABC.
