Weisman will adapt the book, which was released in 2021, as a limited series. The psychological thriller is a co-production of 20th Television and Apple Studios.
Moss (pictured left), whose FX series The Veil debuts next month, and Scandal lead actress Washington (pictured right) will also produce.
The book tells the story of Nancy Hennessy, who is murdered and leaves behind two best friends, an adoring husband and daughter, and a secret lover whose identity she took with her to the grave.
Nancy was beautiful, wealthy and cherished by those who knew her - on the outside her life was perfect. But as the investigation into her death stalls and her friends Eleanor and Mary struggle with their grief, dark details emerge that reveal how little they knew about their friend, each other, and perhaps even themselves.
Lindsey McManus will produce alongside Moss for Love & Squalor Pictures, which had the first option on the book. Washington will produce Simpson Street alongside Pilar Savone. Araminta Hall is also an executive producer, as is Weisman.

Washington added that she could not have “been more thrilled” to get the call from Moss. “I have been an immense fan of hers – both as a brilliant actor and groundbreaking producer – for years. Elisabeth and Lindsey have impeccable taste, as evidenced by the way they have championed Araminta’s gripping novel, and I can’t think of a better person to bring this project to life on screen than the amazing Annie Weisman. Imperfect Women is exactly the type of exciting, complex, raw storytelling we strive to create at Simpson Street.”
