Syfy orders comic book-based Revival series

Syfy has given a series order to Revival, a drama based on the comic book series of the same name.
The series should debut in 2025. The announcement was part of Syfy's upcoming slate of revelations ahead of this week's NBCU "upfront" presentation.

It also included Reginald The Vampire, starring Jacob Batalon, which launched its second season on May 8, and The Ark, whose second season will follow this summer.

Not mentioned in the release are Syfy's two high-end, UCP-produced scripted series, Chucky, which it shares with USA Network, and Resident Alien. While part two of Chucky's third season has just concluded, the future of Resident Alien is seriously uncertain.

As reported last week, there is talk of the Alan Tudyk-starring sci-fi series moving from Syfy to NBCU cable sibling USA Network, with a return to Syfy for season four unlikely.

Revival is produced by Canada's Blue Ice Pictures and is set on a miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, when the deceased suddenly rise from their graves. But this isn't a zombie story, as the "revived" appear and act exactly as they once were.

When local cop and single mother Dana Cypress is unexpectedly placed at the center of a brutal murder mystery, she must make sense of the chaos in a town gripped by fear and confusion where everyone, living or undead, is a suspect .

Lance Samuels, Daniel Iron, Samantha Levine, Daniel March, Luke Boyce and Aaron Koontz serve as executive producers.
