House of the Dragon actress among newly cast actors for Netflix series Sirens

Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy and Milly Alcock (pictured from left to right) are part of the female-driven, dark comedy series produced by LuckyChap.

The series is an adaptation of Metzler's play Elemeno Pea, which she wrote at The Juilliard School. The series centers on Devon, who thinks her sister Simone is having a very creepy relationship with her new boss, enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell. Michaela's cult-like life of luxury is like a drug to Simone and Devon has decided it's time for an intervention.

When Devon tracks down her sister to share her unvarnished opinion, she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be. Told over the course of an explosive weekend at the lush beach estate of The Kells, the series is billed as a sharp, sexy and darkly funny examination of women, power and class.

Fahy plays Devon DeWitt, who finds herself on a downward spiral in her hometown. She is funny, resilient and fiercely protective - especially of her younger sister Simone, played by Alcock. Sharp and charming, Simone has hit the jackpot with her job as a billionaire's personal assistant.

Moore plays Michaela Kell, a philanthropist and animal activist who runs the island's high society and is the wife of billionaire Peter Kell. Her relationship with her assistant Simone seems too close.

In addition to directing and writing the series, Metzler will executive produce for Quiet Coyote, joining Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley and Margot Robbie for LuckyChap. Emmy nominee Nicole Kassell will direct the first two episodes and will also serve as executive producer.

Sirens is the first series from Metzler's creative partnership with Netflix, which was announced in 2022, and follows the Margaret Qualley-led limited series Maid, her first highly acclaimed project with the streamer, which won her Emmy, Humanitas Prize and USC Scripter Award nominations.

Moore, an Oscar winner who recently appeared in Starz's Mary & George, will soon be seen in Pedro Almodóvar's first English-language film, The Room Next Door. Moore also starred in Apple TV+'s limited psychological thriller series Lisey's Story

Fahy is known for her Emmy-nominated role as Daphne in The White Lotus season two and for her starring role as Sutton Brady in Freeform's The Bold Type. She is part of the cast of Vertical's upcoming romantic comedy-horror film Your Monster, which premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival. An upcoming project is Netflix's limited series The Perfect Couple

Alcock is an Australian actress who made her breakthrough with her role as a young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the first season of HBO's House of the Dragon. She's recently been groomed for an even more coveted role, as she's been picked by DC to lead a new Supergirl movie: Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. That's why she will play the role in James Gunn's new Superman film.

Metzler also previously served as writer and co-executive producer of Showtime's Shameless (US). Other writing credits include Hulu's Casual and Netflix's Orange Is the New Black.
