77th Emmy Awards Nominations

The nominations for the 77th annual Emmy Awards were revealed yesterday, with a surprising number of new titles.
Apple TV+'s Severance was the most nominated drama series this year, with a total of 27 nominations. Among limited series, HBO's The Penguin topped the list with 24 nominations. Both The Studio (Apple TV+) and The White Lotus (HBO) followed with 23 nominations each. In the comedy category, HBO's Hacks, starring Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, scored the highest with 14 nominations.

The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California. The ceremony will be broadcast on CBS and Paramount+.

It's surprising that Hannah Einbinder is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Hacks. I actually see Smart and Einbinder as the lead duo. But hey, I think this way she has a better chance of winning :-)
Furthermore, I heartily wish Julianne Nicholson the win for both her supporting role as Sinatra in Paradise and her brilliant guest role as Dance Mom in Hacks.
