Patsy Byrne ‘Nursie’ dies

Patsy Byrne has died in a London retirement home for actors on Tuesday June 17th. She played the crazy Nursie, the nurse of Queenie, in the second season of BBC 1’s 'Blackadder'. The death of Byrne comes exactly one week after the death of her co-star in ‘Blackadder’ Rik Mayall. Mayall died in London of a heart attack.

Byrne was also known for her roles in 'Holby City', 'I, Claudius', 'Blackadder Back & Forth', 'Easy Travellers in North America', 'The Setbacks', 'Miracles Take Longer', 'Z Cars' and 'Watching'.

Many fans are paying their respects and sympathies via Twitter and numerous Facebook pages.

Pasty Byrne was 80 years old.
