Disney+ Reveals Premiere Date for Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes

Disney+ is one step closer to the launch of Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes with a premiere date and trailer.
The trailer takes the audience back twenty years as London recovers from the devastating suicide bombings of July 7, 2005. In the trailer, viewers get a taste of the events leading up to and after the tragic murder of Brazilian de Menezes, who was mistakenly shot dead by police two weeks after July 7, 2005.

Jeff Pope’s factual drama stars Emily Mortimer as disgraced former police chief Cressida Dick and Conleth Hill (pictured) as Sir Ian Blair, who was chief of police at the time of de Menezes’ death.

The cast also includes newcomer Edison Alcaide as de Menezes, Russell Tovey, Max Beesley, Daniel Mays, Laura Aikman and Alex Jennings.

The series has been in the works for a while and comes on the 20th anniversary of the devastating 7/7 London bombings. There have been many documentaries about the attack in recent times, but this is the first fictional drama.

The series launches on Disney+ on Wednesday 30 April. Watch the trailer below.
