New comedy series The Paper gets a premiere window from Peacock

The premiere date for the new comedy series The Paper, from the creators of The Office, was revealed during NBCUniversal's Upfront presentation in New York City.
The Paper is a mockumentary set in the same universe as NBC's Emmy-winning hit series The Office. It's told from the perspective of the documentary crew who filmed Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch. Searching for a new subject, they stumble upon a historic Toledo newspaper, The Truth Teller, along with an ambitious publisher who wants to revive it.

The first official photo (see above) shows Domhnall Gleeson standing on a desk and speaking to the staff, including Oscar Nunez, reprising his role as Oscar Martinez from The Office.

Gleeson and Nunez, along with Sabrina Impacciatore, attended the presentation at Radio City Music Hall. Other cast members who were not present include Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key.

In addition, Eric Rahill, Duane R. Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Mo Welch, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim, and Tracy Letts will also guest star.

In addition to The Paper, Peacock has announced several new scripted originals, including All Her Fault, The Miniature Wife, The Burbs, and The Copenhagen Test.

The Paper will premiere on Peacock in September. A specific premiere date is expected soon.
