Hulu has released the first look at Glen Powell in his role in the comedy series Chad Powers. In the half-hour series, co-created and produced by Powell and Michael Waldron, when bad behavior ruins the college career of popular quarterback Russ Holliday (Powell, pictured below), he disguises himself and goes to a struggling Southern American Football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.
The comedy series is based on the NFL Films and Omaha Productions sketch that aired on ESPN+ as part of the Eli's Places series.
Manning is executive producer, along with Peyton Manning of Omaha Productions, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown and ESPN. Waldron, who co-wrote the pilot script with Powell, and Adam Fasullo are producing for Anomaly Pictures. Powell is an executive producer under his production company Brainstorm.
Quentin Plair and Wynn Everett recently joined Chad Powers as series regulars. Plair will play Coach Byrd and Everett will portray Tricia.
The series' cast also includes Perry Mattfeld as Ricky, Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny and Steve Zahn as Jake Hudson.
American Vandal creator Tony Yacenda directed the pilot episode for Chad Powers. Yacenda also recently directed the Paramount+ series Players and has directed multiple episodes of the FXX comedy series Dave (2020).
