The fact that you were raised on snails and baguettes swimming in garlic oil does not mean that you can enjoy tongues, and even if you are the new Neymar on the playing fields of the messy stacked favelas of Rio, that is no guarantee that you will also get that elastico underneath. The watchful eye of 50,000 foam-faced supporters conjures so smoothly from your lower leg. Your passport does not determine in advance what you are good at and they could have put that memo under the magnet on the refrigerator door of Jo Nesbø and Erik Skjoldbjærg, makers of Occupied. The unanimous hip-hop-in-the-gloria for squatters such as Bron | Broen, Forbrydelsen and Arvingerne sometimes seems to have created the impression that a random Scandinavian in the pub only has to scribble something on a beer mat et voilá ... another great idea for a series. As far as I know, there is only one person who could afford his beers with full-on coasters and that was Herman Brood, the rest of us mortals, Nesbø and Skjoldbjærg included, just need to come up with some well-considered plans before we get our teeth started. This also applies to the most recent drama that recently came off the band at Norwegian TV2. Drama can therefore be interpreted in two ways and that choice is entirely up to you. At least I know which of the two I would go for. Nice to cross with your Volvo XC90 through the Norwegian forests, but it is so bad for the environment. Prime Minister Jesper Berg thinks it is high time that a decent alternative to the use of fossil tires was finally introduced. Easier said than done, because the ongoing unrest in the Middle East has made Norway the Saudi Arabia of the West and not everyone fully agrees that they will soon no longer have access to the black gold from the Norwegian Sea. When Berg announces that the taps will be closed and Europe must focus on a new kind of nuclear energy, the Russians are done with Berg's world-saving behavior and are pushing some troops west over the Risk board to tighten the thumbscrews. . Since America now provides for its own energy needs and the rest of the NATO members would like to continue to compensate for their too small gender with far too large cars, Norway is all on its own. Well Berg, get your Obama on and show the world what wood you are made of. When people talk about “those delicious Scandinavian series”, nine times out of ten it is about a gem from Danish soil. The Danes are masters of binger production (I'll just make it a noun) and the neighboring countries are lagging behind a bit with a few spikes here and there. It would have been nice to be able to say that TV2 had a lot of peaks with Occupied, but that would be too much credit. Despite the fact that there has never been so much money thrown against a series in Norway (11,000,000 George Washingtons), it is all just a bit too thin. Slightly too stiff. Too much fun-tried-but-just-not. - HERE FOLLOW SOME THINGS THAT CAN BE GOVERNED BY ANT FUCKERS - A Prime Minister who is even easier to knock off his throne than Balkenende from a skateboard, a bodyguard who, after one heroic move, must suddenly become the savior of an entire nation and a resistance group , which is led by four derailed preschoolers. I especially shook my head a lot. Add to this that Occupied uses 'coincidences' a little too easily to keep the story going, for example a journalist who in one way or another always turns out to be in the right place, and you get a series that is just a shadow from his great Danish brothers. There are plenty of examples of series that rattle on all sides, but are somehow entertaining, but Occupied unfortunately does not fall into that category for me. Too much is asked of the viewer's forgiveness. To use the words of a great Zeeland philosopher… Weighed, but found too light. www.gumstarr.com
