Outer Banks season three trailer

The new trailer for Outer Banks' third season reveals John B. and Sarah reuniting with Big John and Ward Cameron in the Netflix drama series.

The Netflix Original premiered on the streaming service in 2020 and has released two 10-episode seasons. Created by Shannon Burke, Jonas Pate and Josh Pate, the series follows a group of close-knit teens in the Outer Banks of North Carolina as they stumble upon a treasure map that leads to hidden secrets.

Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, Charles Esten, Drew Starkey Andy McQueen, Fiona Palomo, Carlacia Grant, and Lou Ferrigno Jr. belong to the talented cast.

Big John and Ward finally come face to face with their lost children again, many years after the incident between them, which could lead to even more drama and revelations among the entire cast. Ward's family drama doesn't stop there though, as the trailer also shows a further separation between the father and his troubled son and fellow antagonist Rafe.

Outer Banks

The Outer Banks season three trailer shows the group returning as they begin to realize that a life in peace on Poguelandia is not sustainable. New footage reveals that the group is in the crosshairs of Ward and Rafe, but the two also have their own problems to solve. That friction between Rafe and his dad could be a big part of season three.

In the trailer, he can be heard telling his father that he no longer needs him. Rafe has been trying to gain his father's approval for much of the series, in addition to his own past traumas and ongoing battle with drug addiction. The dynamics of the antagonists may well change.

A particularly emotional reunion was also shared in the trailer, with John B. and Big John reuniting in season three. John B. went through the wringer in the second season. He was arrested after deliberately turning himself in for Susan's murder, but the charges were later dropped and he returned to Poguelandia with the group. Big John has not appeared in the real-time events of the series, but John B.'s father has appeared in numerous flashback sequences.

Outer Banks

The first season of Outer Banks showed Ward Cameron nearly killing Big John, but he survived after being rescued by a man from Barbados who kept him at home.

The other reunion takes place between Kook Princess Sarah Cameron and her father Ward. In the first season, Ward's relationship with Sarah was portrayed much more strongly than with his other children, especially Rafe. John B. and Sarah both rode into the storm to escape at the end of the first season, and Ward assumed the two had died. Of course, he eventually found out they were alive, leading to more traumatic clashes in season two. The Outer Banks season three trailer promises more drama, violence and romance in the near future. All episodes of the third season of Outer Banks will be released on Netflix on Thursday, February 23.
