"Money is, at its essence, that measure of a man's choices," narrates Jason Bateman's money launderer Marty Byrde. That is a quote from the trailer of the final season of the popular Netflix original series Ozark. It will set the tone for what's to come. The fourth season will be released in two parts that consist of seven episodes each. The first part will air on the 21st of January 2022.
Ozark - which was created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams - follows the journey of the Byrde's as they move from their routine lives in the suburbs of Chicago to the dangerous criminal undertakings in the Ozarks, Missouri. The series investigates capitalism, family dynamics and survival through the eyes of extraordinary Americans.
The crime drama stars Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Julia Garner, Lisa Emery, Janet McTeer, Tom Pelphrey, and Jessica Francis Dukes.
Chris Mundy will return as showrunner, writer and executive producer as part of the fourth season. Bateman, Mark Williams, John Shiban, Patrick Markey and Bill Dubuque also serve as executive producers. Laura Linney will serve as a co-executive producer.
In the third season of Ozark, Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer) and the Byrde family went through some struggles, while the leader of the drug cartel, Navarro (Felix Solis), breathed down their necks. The war in season two had a shocking conclusion that left the audience astonished. The season four teaser provides insight into how the new season is planning to wrap up the storyline that was left unresolved during the third season.
