Production on the sixth season of Peaky Blinders has just started. It is going to be the final run for the cast and crew as the series has been cancelled by BBC and Netflix. It took some time before the sixth season of Peaky Blinders had officially entered production. At first, the season was expected to air at some point during the end of 2020 or in the early part of 2021. Last year, production was unable to start due to the coronavirus. It is finally happening. Production on the sixth season has started, which will also be the final season of the series. Anthony Byrne (Ripper Street) will once again serve as the director of the season.
Even though the series is about the end, the story will continue in a different way according to creator Steven Knight (See). Knight hasn't further revealed anything. In 2018, he talked about a seventh season and potential movie of the series. If those plans will still be turned into reality, is something that isn't certain. For now, there is one certainty. There will not be a seventh season of the series at BBC and Netflix.
