Certainly a good series. If you love Heroes then Powers is definitely for you too!

Locked up in the ballroom regularly after gym if you had decided again in the morning to go to school in your sister's green tights, because it made you look so much like Robin from Batman? Crying yourself quietly to sleep on those nights when your Spiderman was hanging pajamas on the clothesline and your mother thought it was way too dangerous to put it on the heater for an hour or two? Have you been hauling that stale wooden crate full of moldy comics after you for four moves because you don't have enough backbone to distance yourself from it? Yes? Well, then PlayStation Network's first production Powers might be for you. As an ex-cyclist or footballer you can fall into a black hole, but what about ex-superheroes? How bad is it when you discover that you can still put on your latex suit, but that won't stop you from crashing to the ground from the balcony at five high? Where in the past you elegantly rushed through the clouds (scrapers) to the rescue of ailing citizens, now, just like everyone else, you just take the stairs and the metro to work. Nice shit. Especially when you are confronted every day at work with what you once were, a superhero. It's the sad fate of Detective Chris Walker, formerly know as Diamond (Dude! Of all the superhero names you could choose…). Chris has lost his power and now tries to stop malicious Powers (people with supernatural powers) during office hours. In itself that goes quite well, until a shadow from the past presses its nose against the window again. If, after years of printing CDs, Richard Branson can suddenly start an airline and let a French pepper mill family roll off the assembly line from one day to the next, why should PlayStation not get involved in the war for the attention of serial viewers? ? After ABC (Agent Carter, Agents Of Shield), The CW (Arrow, Flash) and Netflix (Daredevil, Jessica Jones), they are venturing into a genre that seems to have never been more popular since the end of Heroes in 2010. Sure, the first steps of PlayStation are still a bit uncertain and it is not immediately the success story of Peugeot and Virgin in its early years, but for a first try that Powers is not even that bad. It is not the first series that I would unintelligibly recommend to the slightly annoyed audience when drunk at a party, but if you are a fan of the genre you can give it a chance. PlayStation has already announced a second season, so you can just think of this as work in progress. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was Powers. Why this had to be in English again, I don't know. www.gumstarr.com
