Apple TV+ orders new thriller series Prime Target

The White Lotus and One Day breakout actor Leo Woodall leads the new Apple TV+ thriller series Prime Target opposite Black Adam actress Quintessa Swindell.

Prime Target is about a young math graduate who discovers the secret of prime numbers. The thriller series has Ridley Scott among its executive producers. The series was created by Sherlock writer Steve Thompson.

Woodall (pictured), who is having a new moment after his appearances in HBO's The White Lotus and the new Netflix series One Day, is a graduate mathematician, Edward Brook, who is about to succeed in finding a pattern in prime numbers, which would be the key to every computer in the world.

Soon he begins to realize that an invisible enemy is trying to destroy his idea before it is even born, which throws him into the orbit of Taylah Sanders (Swindell), a female NSA agent tasked with monitoring the behavior of mathematicians to monitor and report on it. Together they begin to solve the disturbing conspiracy.

The cast includes Stephen Rea (The Stranger (2020)), David Morrissey (The Walking Dead), Martha Plimpton (The Regime), Sidse Babbett Knudsen (Borgen), Jason Flemyng (A Town called Malice), Harry Lloyd (Marcella), Ali Suliman (Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan), Fra Fee (Marvel's Hawkeye) and Joseph Mydell (The Castaways).

Writer and director Brady Hood (Great Expectations (2023), Top Boy) directed all eight episodes and is also an executive producer. Napoleon director Scott is executive producing alongside Marina Brackenbury, David W. Zucker, Ed Rubin, Beth Pattinson, Emma Broughton, Yariv Milchan, Arnon Milchan and Michael Schaefer. Series producer is Laura Hastings-Smith, who also serves as executive producer.

The series is produced from New Regency's London office. The company also made The Beast Must Die starring Cush Jumbo for AMC and BritBox.
