Reacher is getting an early renewal with a fourth season from Prime Video

Reacher has been renewed for a fourth season on Prime Video, even though season three won't be released until next year.
The news comes a week after the streamer also revealed it had given a series order to a Reacher spin-off starring Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, a fan-favorite character from the original series.

An early renewal of season four is certainly a vote of confidence from Prime Video, which was to be expected considering the series has become a huge success. The second season was Amazon's most-watched release of 2023. Season two debuted on December 15, and within three days those episodes surpassed the entire viewership of the first season by 50%.

Reacher has become a phenomenon that continues to resonate with our global customers beyond our wildest expectations and we are thrilled to bring the series back for an additional season,“ said Vernon Sanders, head of television, Amazon MGM Studios. “We are looking forward to more action and adventure from the immensely talented team behind the series including Nick Santora, Alan Ritchson, Lee Child, Skydance, and CBS Studios.”

Season three, based on Persuader, the seventh book in Lee Child's series, won't launch until 2025. An exact start date has not yet been announced.

In the upcoming season, Reacher (Alan Ritchson) must go undercover to rescue an informant held by a ghostly enemy from his past.

Anthony Michael Hall, Sonya Cassidy, Brian Tee, Johnny Berchtold, Robert Montesinos, Daniel David Stewart and Olivier Richters also return in season three.

Child is also an executive producer for the series from Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television and CBS Studios. Reacher was written for television by Nick Santora (Fubar, Prison Break), who is also executive producer and showrunner.

In addition to Santora and Child, Ritchson serves as executive producer along with Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt and David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell for Skydance. Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid helm the series for Skydance Television.
