Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette (known from HBO's Barry) has been cast in the fourth season of Reacher on Prime Video. Rodriguez-Marquette, also known as Chris Marquette, will take over the role of Jacob Merrick, a small-town police officer, a role that will have a major storyline in the upcoming season.
Rodriguez-Marquette (pictured) replaces Jay Baruchel, who recently had to withdraw due to personal circumstances, just a few weeks after his participation was announced. Notably, Rodriguez-Marquette was cast the same day the role was called and flown to the set within days.
Based on the Lee Child book series, Reacher is being developed by Nick Santora, who also serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. The fourth season is an adaptation of the thirteenth book in the series, Gone Tomorrow.
The story centers on Jack Reacher (played by Alan Ritchson), who, after meeting a desperate stranger on a train, finds himself caught up in a dangerous plot that brings him into conflict with ruthless enemies from the highest echelons of power.
In addition to Rodriguez-Marquette, Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun (the French-Indonesian singer), Kevin Corrigan, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, and Kathleen Robertson have also been announced as new cast members for this season.
The third season of Reacher debuted in February 2025 and immediately became the most-watched returning series ever on Prime Video.
Rodriguez-Marquette was most recently seen in the HBO series Barry. He also just wrapped filming for a lead role in the indie horror anthology Grind. His television credits include Mozart in the Jungle (Prime Video), All Wrong (season two, Black Pills), The Fugitive (2020) (Quibi) and Joan of Arcadia (CBS).
