Trailer, first look photos and poster for Ripley starring Andrew Scott released by Netflix

Andrew Scott plays con man Tom Ripley in the new Netflix series Ripley, premiering next month.
The series is based on Patricia Highsmith's bestseller Tom Ripley and stars Scott as the titular character, a con man trying to make ends meet in early 1960s New York.

Ripley is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his wandering son to return home. Ripley's acceptance of the assignment is the first step in a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder.

The new trailer shows just how far Ripley will go to get the job done.

The eight-episode limited series, premiering on Thursday, April 4, is directed and written by Steven Zaillian. The series was originally set up for Showtime but moved to Netflix in anticipation of the premium cable network's addition to Paramount+.

Ripley is co-produced by Showtime and Endemol Shine North America in association with Entertainment 360 and Filmrights.

Executive producers are Steven Zaillian, Garrett Basch, Clayton Townsend, Guymon Casady (Entertainment 360), Benjamin Forkner, Philipp Keel (Diogenes) and Sharon Levy and Charlie Corwin (Endemol Shine). Scott serves as producer for the series.

This could be an interesting series. Directed and written by Steven Zaillian, who previously wrote The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) and The Irishman (2019).
