Rita is everything. For example, Rita is a mother. She has three. One of the three is about to come out and secretly eats huge chunks of brie, because his sister has said that brie tastes like cock. I think it's funny. Toasts at grandma's will never taste the same again. Not for me and not for you after reading the foregoing. You're welcome. Rita loves lumberjack blouses. I think Rita is even more devoted to her checkered flannel than Sarah Lund to Mart Smeets' sweaters. Basically Rita is just the Scandinavian Al Borland, only with less sawing and carpentry skills. The only thing that Rita quickly gets through are guys. In the toilet of the pub, in the back of the warehouse of the neighborhood supermarket or in the backseat of the Volvo, if it has a heartbeat and smells somewhat like musk, Rita likes it. But above all, Rita is a teacher. The type of teacher we all wish we had as we struggled through our Clearasil days in frustration. The kind of teacher you almost had to fall in love with as a hormone-gushing adolescent boy. Rita is strict, but fair. She's the queen of awkward. Everything that comes to her mind immediately rolls over her tongue and that regularly creates pleasantly uncomfortable situations. Rita herself is not warm or cold from that, because Rita is actually always right. If Courtney Love hadn't fallen over into Kurt's cocaine in Seattle, but simply finished her PABO, she was Rita. Secondary school is not going to be much more rock & roll. Already after the first five minutes, in which Rita is quietly working away a cigarette butt in an under-chalked toilet cubicle, I decided that I was going to think this was a great series. Finally also something from Scandinavian soil in which no body has been cut in half on a bridge. Sometimes nice too. You could say it's a bit of a wifey series, but that doesn't have to scare the self-confident male guy. Rita is nice and light-hearted with a little piglet here and there, but secretly it is also the sometimes somewhat painful story of a woman looking for love. The latter in particular ensures that this is not just another flat chuckle, but a series that has a little more layers. It is of course not Harry Mulisch, but also not such a bouquet series in that rack at the cash register of Albert Heijn. Most of all, it's fun. Even if you don't like children. www.gumstarr.com

Super cool series! Nice humor with many recognizable and unrecognizable situations. Played around life as a teacher.

A fantastic series in which Rita discusses problems in her own way and a moral of the story. I enjoyed every episode, am now curious how the Dutch version is ... Tessa ..
