Ruff Ryders was a musical collective and an entertainment company headed by brothers Darrin “Dee” Dean and Joaquin “Waah” Dean. Mostly backed by the sounds of producer Swizz Beatz, multi-platinum rappers such as DMX, Eve and The Lox made an indelible mark on hip hop around the turn of the millennium. Aside from the solo releases from affiliated artists, Ruff Ryders released the popular Ryde or Die compilation series (three volumes from 1999 to 2005), which showcased their impressive roster.
