Prime Video Orders Video Game-Based Anthology Series Secret Level

Prime Video is combining video games and animation for one of its biggest bets on adult animation to date.
According to sources, the streamer is teaming up with Tim Miller and his Blur Studio, the creative team behind Netflix’s critically acclaimed Love, Death & Robots, for a new adult animation anthology series called Secret Level.

Like Love, Death & Robots, whose episodes are based on short stories, the video game anthology series Secret Level, created and produced by Miller (pictured), consists of original short stories that are set in the worlds of beloved video games, sources said.

Details are scarce, but Amazon Games’ New World, Spelunky and PlayStation titles are said to be among the games and IPs in the series, which is expected to be revealed soon, likely during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live.

Representatives for Prime Video declined to comment.

Secret Level is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Blur Studio. Dave Wilson is executive producer and director.

Co-founded by Miller in 1995 as a studio for animators and artists to collaborate and control their creative destiny, Blur generates content spanning game cinematics, commercials, feature films and more.

On Prime Video, Secret Level joins a roster of adult animated series including Invincible, Hazbin Hotel and Batman: Caped Crusader.
