Sherwood (2022) renewed for a third season

Sherwood (2022), James Graham's highly regarded BBC thriller series, has been renewed for a third season now that the second has concluded.
The House Productions series is one of the BBC's most successful dramas in recent years and the first episode of the latest season has been watched by more than 6.5 million viewers so far, the organization said.

Graham's series is inspired by the miners' strikes and subsequent murders in an East Midlands town near where he grew up.

Sherwood (2022)

The second series of Sherwood (2022), inspired by the so-called 'Shottingham' gang wars that ravaged the region and community in Nottinghamshire, recently concluded to great acclaim.

Directed by Clio Barnard and Tom George, with a cast including David Morrissey, Monica Dolan, David Harewood, Lorraine Ashbourne, Robert Lindsay, Perry Fitzpatrick, Christine Bottomley, Michael Balogun, Oliver Huntingdon, Bethany Asher and Lesley Manville.

Graham said: “It continues to be the greatest privilege to tell stories set in and inspired by the history of my home county of Nottinghamshire. Having a returning series on the BBC is pretty much every British writer’s dream, and I’m incredibly grateful for the continued passion that Lindsay, Charlotte and Jo have for Sherwood – and to everyone at House Productions, the most supportive producers you can have.”

Sherwood (2022) season three will again be written by Graham who will executive produce alongside Juliette Howell, Tessa Ross and Harriet Spencer for House Productions and Jo McClellan for the BBC. The new series has been commissioned by Lindsay Salt, director of BBC Drama.

Good news! The second season is just as good as the first, and there is clearly still plenty of room to further develop the story.
