Candice Bergen Joins Star-Studded Cast of Shrinking Season Three

Add Candice Bergen to the list of icons appearing in Shrinking, the hit comedy series from Apple TV+.Candice Bergen, known for her iconic role in Murphy Brown, will appear in the third season of Apple TV+'s hit comedy series Shrinking. Her participation was revealed by co-creator Bill Lawrence during a panel at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas.

The casting came to light during the Bill Lawrence and Friends event, where Lawrence spoke about reuniting with Michael J. Fox — who he previously worked with on Spin City . In his excitement, he unexpectedly revealed that he was recently on set “with Harrison Ford, Mike Fox and Candice Bergen — oh, a spoiler!”

While Lawrence didn’t say anything substantive about Bergen’s role, her appearance is notable. She joins an impressive cast that includes Jason Segel (who is also a co-creator), Harrison Ford, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell and Ted McGinley. Fox, whose role was previously revealed, will also appear in season three. Jeff Daniels, Sherry Cola and Isabella Gomez have also been announced as new cast members.

Shrinking follows Jimmy (Segel), a grieving therapist who — after losing his wife — decides to abandon conventional therapy practices and use unorthodox methods with his patients, friends and family. The series is praised for its combination of humor, emotional depth and strong performances.

For Bergen, the role adds to a list of recent guest appearances, including HBO Max’s And Just Like That… and ABC’s The Conners.

With names like Ford, Fox and now Bergen, season three of Shrinking promises to once again be a mix of comedy and heartwarming drama, supported by a top cast of television icons.
