Jude Law Appears as Jedi in Star Wars Series Skeleton Crew Trailer

The first trailer for the new Star Wars series Skeleton Crew has been released at Disney's D23 in Anaheim.
Jude Law took the stage and said the series harks back to Amblin's children's fantasy films from the '80s, like The Goonies.

"I fell in love with Star Wars when I was a 10-year-old boy," he said. "This show is told from the perspective of the children."

The clip features young children zooming around a space academy setting. They stumble across a tunnel in the woods, zoom down, find a ship, fly through hyperspace, encounter giant monsters and fire gun turrets. Oh, and Law plays a Jedi.

The Star Wars series, executive produced by Jon Watts, is set in the same timeline as The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, and follows “a group of kids, about 10 years old, who get lost in the Star Wars universe,” according to Watts, who announced the series at Star Wars Celebration 2022. “It stars four kids, but it’s not a kids’ show,” he added.

Christopher Ford is writing for the series, with Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni serving as executive producers.

Skeleton Crew was filmed in California and was projected to spend around $136 million in qualified expenditures during its first cycle in the Golden State, with an estimated tax credit of $20.9M.

Skeleton Crew premieres with two episodes on the Disney streamer on Tuesday, December 3. Watch the trailer below.
