Morgan Freeman cast in Paramount+'s Lioness

Paramount+ has added another big name to the Lioness cast. Morgan Freeman joins the cast of the upcoming drama series. Freeman will play Edwin Mullins, the US Secretary of State. Zoe Saldaña (From Scratch), Laysla De Oliveira (Locke & Key), Nicole Kidman (The Undoing), Dave Annable (Walker), Jill Wagner (Teen Wolf), LaMonica Garrett (1883), James Jordan (Yellowstone (2018)), Austin Hébert (Unbelievable), Jonah Wharton (The Rookie), Stephanie Nur (The Quest) and Hannah Love Lanier (A Black Lady Sketch Show) also star in the series.

The series follows a unique CIA program that goes after terrorist organizations.



Paramount+ revealed more about the new series in a press release:

"Paramount+ announced today that Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman (pictured) will join the cast of the upcoming original series Lioness, alongside lead actress and executive producer Zoe Saldaña, Academy Award winner and executive producer Nicole Kidman, and Laysla De Oliveira. .

Freeman plays Edwin Mullins, the US Secretary of State. Lioness by Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone (2018), Mayor of Kingstown) is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios exclusively for Paramount+.

Based on a real CIA program, Lioness follows Cruz Manuelos (De Oliveira), a rough but passionate young Marine who is recruited to become part of the CIA's Lioness Engagement Team to take down a terrorist organization from the inside out . Saldaña will play Joe, the head of the Lioness program tasked with training, managing and leading its female undercover agents.

Lioness also stars Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Stephanie Nur and Hannah Love Lanier. The series is produced by Taylor Sheridan, David C.
