Season five won't debut until early 2024 (an exact release date hasn't been revealed yet), but fans have been treated to a preview of the final season, which was released at San Diego Comic-Con.
In the five-minute clip, Captain Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) pursues Moll (Eve Harlow) and L'ak (Elias Toufexis) by holding onto their starship as it travels at warp speed. The clip is not for everyone to see, but a teaser with behind-the-scenes footage for the fifth season is. You can find these at the bottom of this news item.
Launched in 2017, Star Trek: Discovery is a legendary series for Paramount+. It helped announce then-new streamer CBS All Access as the first commissioned original series. It also launched the Star Trek franchise on the streamer, which has grown to five current series. With Star Trek: Picard having already aired its final season, Star Trek: Discovery will be the last CBS All Access series to end on Paramount+.
In the fifth and final season, Captain Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and the crew of the USS Discovery discover a mystery that will send them on an epic adventure across the galaxy to find an ancient force whose existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries. But there are others on the hunt too - dangerous enemies who are desperate to claim the prize for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it.

Alex Kurtzman, Michelle Paradise, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers. Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise are the co-showrunners.
