Well, I'm amazed at myself. What I couldn't do at Foundation, I can do now. I can see this as a fun science fiction series. Apart from the names, it doesn't have much to do with Star Trek, but it is a very nice SF series with nice discoveries. The last episode, number 8, is not super original with a god-like entity, but it is very funny. Almost as much fun as The Orville. I remain a bit disappointed with the liberties the makers take with the Star Trek canon, but I have decided to simply not see it as Star Trek anymore. And then you start paying attention to other things and it turns out to be quite fun. I bumped up my grade a bit. And yes, it is quite woke, especially in terms of cast. But as long as the captain is someone who exudes authority (except in the last episode ;-)) and is suitable for that position, instead of an unhinged idiot who starts a war and cries like crazy, like in Discovery, I can look through that.
I thought this was one of the surprises. Firstly, I had no idea it was coming, secondly, it was just fun to watch. I have to say that I am not at the age to spend centuries comparing everything with "the previous Star Treks", which is starting to get a bit old now. We're talking about series made in another century. Let it go for once and just enjoy the new range of SF series.
First an episode intertwined with a cartoon "Those Old Scientists" and now a musical "Subspace Rhapsody"? I'm really done with that nonsense. Come up with a real SF Star Trek series that follows up TNG with modern spaceships, which then go further than ever in a new unexplored part of the galaxy, for example, or in a completely different galaxy. That would be nice. What are the makers so afraid of? TNG series such as TNG, DS9 and Voyager were the most popular Star Trek series ever, why not expand on that? That old TOS crap is really killing me now.
Man, man, man...Think season 2 was written by the creators of The Simpsons. Or they were all on the heavy stuff. That's why only 4 because there are only 4 episodes worth watching! The fact that the latter has a sequel in possibly season 3 (if that happens?) cannot appeal or tempt me to see it... It will end well anyway. I'm very open-minded when it comes to scify, but what I saw here is sad and completely illogical and way too much sought after! Season 3?, not necessary for me.
