The video provides some clues about the aftermath of the catastrophic event in the season four finale that saw the Upside Down seep into Hawkins. The town hasn't been taken over and Hawkins High School, where the main characters attend, still looks relatively intact.
Ross Duffer, co-creator, executive producer and co-showrunner with his brother Matt Duffer, already marked the mid-production point of season five with an Instagram post on July 3. “Week 24. Happy half way to the best cast and crew ever,” he wrote alongside a photo of the cast and crew and a video with lead actor Finn Wolfhard.
Although Stranger Things season five concludes, the franchise continues. There is a stage show, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, in London's West End and an animated spin-off series in the works for Netflix.
