The series, which aired on NPO 1, will continue for two seasons, writes lead actress Sanne Langelaar on Instagram.
"It is regularly asked: when will the third season of Swanenburg come? Unfortunately, it remains with these two seasons, dear viewers," Langelaar shares with her followers. "I am proud that our summer series was so well viewed that we have another bonus season around Christmas were allowed to make. But the NPO has now indicated that there will not be a third season.”

The series revolves around the wealthy Praal family. When youngest son Dirk (Buijs) is linked to the death of a woman, the family is drawn into a web of intrigue and betrayal. The first season of Swanenburg was the best-streamed drama series of 2021 on NPO Start, according to KRO-NCRV.
