Trailer for Ted Lasso's third season

Apple TV+ unveils the official Ted Lasso season three trailer in which Nate becomes a full-fledged rival for Jason Sudeikis' titular football coach.
Shortly after releasing a teaser, Apple TV+ revealed the official Ted Lasso season 3 trailer. The Emmy-winning comedy series follows Jason Sudeikis' titular American football coach who is hired to coach struggling Premier League football team AFC Richmond.

Expected to be the final season of the critically acclaimed series, Ted Lasso season three follows the aftermath of Ted's former protégé, Nate (Nick Mohammed), being hired to coach rival team West Ham United.

Ted Lasso

The trailer for Ted Lasso's third season kicks off with AFC Richmond who, following their recent promotion to the Premier League, are expected to finish last in the league. While they seem to struggle early in the season, the team should once again exceed expectations by season's end. AFC Richmond is an incredibly resilient group led by their ever-positive head coach. Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) also seems to be setting himself up as a more prominent assistant coach after Nate's departure and praises until Ted and Coach Beard's (Brendan Hunt) shock a player onto the field. Ted's panic attacks are expected to continue into season three as well, as at one point he clenches his hands on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Nate has gone to work for Rupert (Anthony Head) as head coach of rival West Ham United. Life as a "prodigy" turns out not to be all that Nate had hoped for, as he looks miserable drinking alone at his parents' favorite Greek restaurant. This is contrasted by the AFC Richmond players happily gathering for dinner, perhaps at Sam's (Toheeb Jimoh) Nigerian restaurant that he planned to open at the end of season two. While Nate is now a full-fledged rival for AFC Richmond, Ted is still in the stands at West Ham United's stadium cheering on his former assistant coach.

Ted Lasso

While never explicitly confirmed, Ted Lasso season three is expected to be the series' last, as the creators initially developed the series with a three-season plan in mind. The season three trailer should only reinforce these expectations further, with a few emotional scenes and story beats that evoke a general sense that this could be the end for the beloved series. Still, the official trailer doesn't reveal everything, saving all the surprises for Ted Lasso season three to kick off on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, March 15.
