The eight-episode second season begins with Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) returning to college after breaking up at the beginning of the summer. They no longer speak to each other after the dramatic events.
The synopsis reads: "But while they find themselves deeply at odds with each other, they find themselves in a new version of their addictive dynamic - one that is as infuriating as it is inescapable. Meanwhile, the story expands into the lives of Lucy and Stephen's group of friends, as the outcome of the first season affects all of their lives in unexpected ways."
In addition to Van Patten, Tell Me Lies stars Cat Missal, Spencer House, Sonia Mena, Branden Cook and Alicia Crowder.
Lucifer actor Tom Ellis will appear in season two as a series regular in the role of Oliver, a professor at Baird College whose tough attitude gives him an intimidating presence that is not appreciated by all students. He is married to Lucy's professor Marianne (Gabriella Pession), but when one of the main characters begins to seek his approval, his influence will have chaotic consequences.
Jacob Rodriguez and Katherine Hughes are also joining season two in recurring roles. Thomas Doherty will appear in recurring guest star role, Leo, a student at Baird who returns to campus after a year studying abroad and is immediately attracted to Lucy.
Rodriguez will play Chris, the handsome brother of Lydia (Natalee Linez) who is excited about visiting Baird. He is friendly, good-natured and interested in Pippa (Sonia Mena).
Hughes plays Molly, a confident, open friend of Diana (Alicia Crowder), who is interested in one of the boys.
Based on the book by Carola Lovering, Tell Me Lies follows a tumultuous and intoxicating relationship that unfolds over eight years and affects everyone around it. The group of college friends in their wake are dragged into a mess of betrayal, sex and lies that will change their lives forever.
Meaghan Oppenheimer is executive producer and showrunner. Emma Roberts, co-founder Karah Preiss and Matt Matruski produce under their own names Belletrist, Laura Lewis and Stephanie Noonan direct for Rebelle Media. Shannon Gibson and Sam Schlaifer also executive produce. Lovering is a consulting producer. The Hulu Original series is produced by 20th Television.
Tell Me Lies season two can be seen from Wednesday 4 September. The second season of the Hulu Original series debuts that day with two episodes, with the remaining six episodes following once a week.
