Apple TV+ revealed more about the new series in a press release:

“Apple TV+ today announced The Big Door Prize, the character-driven comedy series from Emmy Award winner David West Read (Schitt's Creek), will make its worldwide debut on Wednesday, March 29. The new 10-episode, half-hour comedy series featuring an ensemble cast led by Chris O'Dowd and Gabrielle Dennis, Ally Maki, Josh Segarra, Damon Gupton, Crystal Fox, Djouliet Amara and Sammy Fourlas, debuting the first three episodes on Wednesday, March 29, followed by a new episode every Wednesday through May 17.

The Big Door Prize, based on the novel of the same name by M.O. Walsh, tells the story of a small town that changes forever when a mysterious machine appears in the shop, promising to reveal the true life potential of each resident.

Dusty Hubbard (O'Dowd), a seemingly content, fun-loving family man and high school teacher, watches everyone around him rethink his life choices and aspirations - based on the machine's imprints - and is forced to wonder if he really as happy as he ever thought. While he remains skeptical about the machine, his wife Cass (Dennis) surrenders to the dream that there is something bigger for her. Like many Deerfield residents, the couple lived a relatively safe, uncomplicated life until the arrival of the Morpho Machine. However, all that is about to change when the community is forced to reconcile with their unfulfilled achievements in the pursuit of a better future.

The Big Door Prize is produced by Skydance Television and CJ ENM/Studio Dragon. Read is showrunner and executive producer. David Ellison and Dana Goldberg are the executive producers for Skydance Television. Miky Lee, Young Kyu Kim and Hyun Park produce for CJ ENM/Studio Dragon, Bill Bost and Sarah Walker.

Anu Valia (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law), Molly McGlynn (Grace and Frankie), Todd Biermann (Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet), Jenée LaMarque (Dead to Me) and Declan Lowney (Ted Lasso) direct the series."
