The Big Door Prize series, starring Chris O'Dowd, Gabrielle Dennis, Ally Maki, Josh Segarra, Damon Gupton, Crystal Fox, Djouliet Amara and Sammy Fourlas, is based on the novel by M.O. Walsh and tells the story of a small town that receives a mysterious machine.
Ten episodes were produced for the season. The streaming service renewed the series a week after its premiere in April 2023.
Season two will also star Justine Lupe, Aaron Roman Weiner, Mary Holland, Patrick Kerr, Cocoa Brown, Carrie Barrett, Elizabeth Hunter, Jim Meskimen, Matt Dellapina and Melissa Ponzio.

“Apple TV+ today revealed the launch date and first look at the second season of The Big Door Prize, the critically acclaimed and characterful comedy from Emmy Award-winning creator David West Read (Schitt's Creek).
The 10-episode second season launches worldwide on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 with three episodes, followed by a new episode every Wednesday through June 12, 2024.
Based on the novel by M.O. Walsh, The Big Door Prize season two follows the residents of Deerfield as the Morpho machine prepares them for the mysterious 'next phase'. As everyone's potential is exchanged for visions, new relationships are formed and new questions are asked.
Dusty (Chris O'dowd) and Cass (Gabrielle Dennis) decide to part ways for a while, while Trina (Djouliet Amara) and Jacob (Sammy Fourlas) learn that they can shake off their old labels. Giorgio (Josh Segarra) and Izzy (Crystal Fox) find romance while Hana (Ally Maki) and Father Reuben (Damon Gupton) try to discover the machine's purpose. The small town is once again left to wonder what they thought they knew about their lives, relationships, possibilities, and about the Morpho itself.
The Big Door Prize features an ensemble cast led by Emmy Award winner O'Dowd (Get Shorty), Dennis (Luke Cage), Maki (Marvel's Cloak & Dagger), Gupton (Black Lightning), Segarra (The Other Two), Fourlas, Amara (Devil in Ohio) and Crystal Fox (Big Little Lies), and is produced by Skydance Television and CJ ENM/Studio Dragon.
Season two welcomes new guest stars including Justine Lupe (Succession), Aaron Roman Weiner (Power Book III: Raising Kanan), Mary Holland (The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window), Patrick Kerr (Frasier), Cocoa Brown (9-1-1), Carrie Barrett (Henry Danger), Elizabeth Hunter (Nashville), Jim Meskimen (For All Mankind), Matt Dellapina (For Life) and Melissa Ponzio (Chicago Fire).
Read is showrunner and executive producer, along with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television, Miky Lee, Jey-hyun Kim and Hyun Park for Studio Dragon, Bill Bost and Sarah Walker. Steven Tsuchida (Cobra Kai), Heather Jack (Miracle Workers (2019)), Jordan Canning (Schitt's Creek), Satya Bhabha (Sense8) and Declan Lowney (Ted Lasso) direct the series.
After its global debut on Apple TV+ last year, The Big Door Prize quickly rose to Rotten Tomatoes Certified Fresh status and was praised as "thought-provoking," "hilarious" and "one of the best comedy debuts in years."
