Victor's (Luke James) troubled past has consequences for his new role as a city councilman.

Rob (Iman Shumpert) and Tiff's (Hannah Hall) pot business and Jake's (Michael V. Epps) clothing line take off and Papa (Shamon Brown Jr.) falls for an older woman while questioning his faith after the senseless loss of his beloved father.
Kevin (Alex Hibbert) gets a big gaming opportunity in Los Angeles, leaving Maisha (Genesis Denise Hale) to fight for her big career move despite the new attention from manager Jemma (Judae'a Brown).

Hardison plays Professor Gardner, a college literature professor, Leon plays Alonzo, a charming, smart lawyer with old ties to Alicia (guest star Lynn Whitfield). Gray plays Damien, a smart young man who will impact Emmett's (Jacob Latimore) life in more ways than one and Watts plays Pastor Ezekiel, a charismatic pastor of a megachurch.
Hardison is best known for his role as the fast-talking, flipping, sunglasses-wearing Dwayne Wayne on NBC's hit series A Different World, which premiered nearly four decades ago. He recently starred in Moonhaven for AMC, was a series regular on Teenage Bounty Hunters for Netflix and appeared in the series Black Monday for Showtime.
Leon recently starred in the Amazon Studios Donald Glover series Swarm and the Showtime drama series City on a Hill.
Gray recently starred in Boots Riley's Amazon series I'm a Virgo, which is currently streaming on Prime Video. He is best known for his role as Jamal Turner in Netflix's hit series On My Block, which he played for four seasons. Gray starred in Ava DuVernay's Emmy-winning Netflix limited series When They See Us.
Watts is a Tony and Emmy-nominated multidisciplinary artist with multiple stage, film and series roles. Some of his credits include Werewolf By Night (Disney+), The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon), The Last O.G. (TBS), The Deuce (HBO), Boardwalk Empire (HBO), Blindspot (NBC) and Blue Bloods (CBS). He recently wrapped the first season of HBO's The Penguin alongside Colin Farrell, which continues the epic crime saga that Matt Reeves started with The Batman.

The Chi was created and produced by Lena Waithe under her Hillman Grad banner and produced by Common. It is a timely coming-of-age story about a group of residents of Chicago's South Side who are connected by chance, but by the need for connection and redemption.
Along with Waithe and Common, the series is produced by ID8 Multimedia's Aaron Kaplan, Rick Famuyiwa, Derek Dudley and Shelby Stone and Hillman Grad CEO Rishi Rajani.
Executive producers Justin Hillian and Jewel Coronel are co-showrunners for season six. Co-executive producers are Naomi Funabashi, who supervises for Hillman Grad, and Resheida Brady. Producers Deondray Gossfield and Quincy LeNear Gossfield will direct multiple episodes in season six.
The second part of season six starts on Friday, May 10.
