The first half of season six of The Chi was the most watched season yet on streaming, up almost 25 percent from season five.
The second half launched last Friday, May 10, on demand and on streaming for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with Showtime subscription, and made its debut linearly last night on Showtime.
The seventh season will begin production in Chicago later this month. The Chi was created and produced by Lena Waithe under her Hillman Grad banner and produced by Common. It centers on a group of residents of Chicago's South Side who are connected by chance, but by the need for connection and redemption. The series comes from 20th Television.
