The Chosen Adventures is a 14-episode animated series that follows 9-year-old Abby in the Galilean city of Capernaum, circa 30 CE. Curious young Abby is bursting with questions and feels like she doesn't have the answers she's looking for. Will that all change when she and her best friend Joshua meet Jesus? The voice cast includes Paul Walter Hauser (Black Bird), Yvonne Orji (Insecure) and Jordin Sparks, as well as cast members from The Chosen including Jonathan Roumie, Paras Patel, Elizabeth Tabish, Noah James, Joey Vahedi, Yasmine Al-Bastami, Brandon Potter and George H. Xanthis.
The Chosen In the Wild with Bear Grylls is a six-episode adventure series produced by The Natural Studios in association with Jenkins' 5&2 Studios. In it, famed survivor and adventurer Bear Grylls (Running Wild with Bear Grylls) takes an immersive journey with the cast and creator of The Chosen, offering a unique exploration of the global hit series. In each episode, Grylls ventures into the wilderness with one cast member, exploring their personal stories and delving deeper into their own perspectives on the series and the characters they portray.
Other projects in development include a three-season series on the story of Moses, a limited series on the life of Joseph, and the next chapter after The Chosen with the Acts of the Apostles.
Jenkins' newly launched production company 5&2 Studios is producing the projects.
Entering its fifth season in 2025, The Chosen is a historical drama based on the life of Jesus (Jonathan Roumie) as seen through the eyes of those who knew him. Set against the backdrop of Roman oppression in first-century Israel, the seven-season show provides an authentic and intimate look at Jesus' revolutionary life and teachings.
The Chosen is an independent production written, directed and produced by Jenkins and distributed worldwide by Lionsgate.
