The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin has been renewed for a second season

Apple TV+'s infamous highwayman Dick Turpin is returning for a second season.

The streamer has given the green light for a second season of The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin starring Noel Fielding, in which the main character experiences fantastic adventures again.

The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin

In this irreverent retold story, set in the 18th century, Turpin is the most famous but least obvious highwayman, whose success is largely defined by his charm, showmanship and great hair. Along with his gang of lovable villains, Turpin experiences the highs and lows of his new ventures, including a run-in with celebrity.

The first season of the period comedy series also starred British comedians including Ellie White, Dolly Wells and Mark Heap, and Apple said season two will feature "a host of British comedy talent."

The series is written by Fielding, Richard Naylor and Jon Brittain and is produced by The Outlaws creator Big Talk Studios. The series is produced by Kenton Allen, Fielding, Victoria Grew, Anthony Wilcox and Ben Palmer, with Naylor and Brittain serving as co-executive producers. Palmer also directs.

The series is a rare example of an international comedy series expanding beyond a first season for Apple TV+. Only Rafe Spall's starter Trying, which launched its fourth season in May, has run for multiple seasons.

It was recently revealed that Still Up, the insomnia comedy series starring Antonia Thomas and Craig Roberts, was canceled after one season.
