The Conners has been renewed for a sixth season by ABC

Things aren't getting any quieter in Lanford. Comedy series The Conners has been renewed for a sixth season on the ABC network.
The Conners is a family comedy series starring John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara, Jayden Rey and Jay R. Ferguson. Katey Sagal and Nat Faxon have recurring roles.

The Conners

Picking up where the sitcom Roseanne revival left off, the series follows the extended working-class Conner family led by widower Dan Conner (Goodman) and his three adult children, Becky (Goranson), Darlene (Gilbert) and D.J. (Michael Fishman), and sister-in-law Jackie Harris (Metcalf). The fifth season begins after the double marriage of Jackie and Neville (Faxon) and Darlene and Ben (Ferguson). Meanwhile, D.J. left to join his wife abroad, but his daughter Mary (Rey) remains in Lanford.

The members of the Conner family continue to struggle with parenting, dating, financial pressures and aging in working class America. With love, humor and perseverance, the family conquers.

The fifth season of The Conners, which airs on Wednesday evenings, averaged 0.50 in the 18-49 demographic and 3.76 million viewers. Compared to season four, that's the same in the demo and 19% more viewers in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback until 3:00 AM). It is the network's most-watched series in the demo. In the ratings for Live+7 days, the episodes get 30% more viewers.

The 22-episode fifth season ended last week. Deadline reports that thirteen episodes have been ordered for season six with an option for an additional nine. A start date is expected this summer. There are hints that season six could be the end.
