Premiere date for Peacock's John Wick prequel series The Continental

News of the premiere date came during San Diego Comic-Con, where audiences were also treated to exclusive footage from the upcoming series.

A panel on the series featuring Executive Producer/Director Albert Hughes, Executive Producer Marshall Persinger and the creative team, including Action Director Larnell Stovall, Production Designer Drew Boughton and Editor Ron Rosen, attended San Diego Comic-Con to share news about the series.

The John Wick prequel series The Continental, which explores the iconic hotel for assassins, premieres Friday, September 22 on Peacock with the first episode of the three-part event, titled 'Night 1'. Episode two will debut on September 29 and the final episode will hit the streamer on October 6.

In The Continental, Colin Woodell (The Flight Attendant) plays the role of a young Winston Scott - The Continental's hotel manager. The film explores the origins of the iconic hotel-for-killers centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of Woodell's young Winston, as he is swept into the hellish landscape of 1970s New York City to confront a past he thought he had left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel's mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to take over the hotel where he will eventually ascend to his future throne.

Woodell co-stars with Ayomide Adegun, who plays a young Charon, Peter Greene (For Life), who plays Uncle Charlie, Mel Gibson as Cormac, Ben Robson (Animal Kingdom (2016)) as Frankie, Hubert Point-Du Jour (The Good Lord Bird) as Miles, Jessica Allain as Lou, Mishel Prada (Riverdale) as KD, and Nhung Kate as Yen.

Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward and Shawn Simmons created the series. Coolidge and Ward are the writers and showrunners on The Continental and are producing alongside Albert Hughes, Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee of Thunder Road Pictures, Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Simmons, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese and Marshall Persinger. Albert Hughes directs the first and third parts and Charlotte Brandstrom the second part.
