First official trailer for The Continental: From the World of John Wick

It's almost time to check in at The Continental. The John Wick prequel series is due out next month on Peacock, and the streamer released a trailer ahead of the three-part event last Wednesday.

The trailer gives a first look at the story of the series, which follows Colin Woodell (The Flight Attendant) as a young Winston Scott. Eventually, he becomes the owner of The Continental. It looks like young Winston will take on Mel Gibson's criminal Cormac, who runs The Continental in New York City. Cormac is after Winston's brother, Frankie Scott (Ben Robson, Animal Kingdom) for something he stole from the hotel. Winston will have to track down his sibling before Cormac's lackeys get there first.

The three-part event explores the origins behind the iconic hotel-for-killers centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of Woodell's young Winston as he is dragged into the hellish landscape of 1970s New York to confront a past that he thought he had left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel's mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to take over the hotel where he will eventually ascend to his future throne.

The Continental

Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward and Shawn Simmons co-created the series. Coolidge and Ward are the writers and showrunners of The Continental and are producing alongside Albert Hughes, Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee of Thunder Road Pictures, Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Simmons, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese and Marshall Persinger.

Albert Hughes (The Good Lord Bird) directs the first and third episodes and Charlotte Brändström (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power) directs the second episode. The Continental will premiere on Peacock on September 22, 2023.
