Disney+ revealed more about the upcoming series in a press release:

"Today, Disney+ released the official trailer for the highly anticipated original series The Crossover. Based on Kwame Alexander's critically acclaimed bestseller, the series from Disney Branded Television features an ensemble cast including Derek Luke, Daveed Diggs and more. All episodes from the series will be available to stream starting Wednesday, April 5, only on Disney+.

The Crossover is a heartwarming, gripping story about a family of basketball players. The series introduces teenage brothers Josh (Jalyn Hall) and Jordan (Amir O'Neil) Bell, widely regarded as basketball phenoms. Through his lyrical poetry, an adult version of Josh, aka Filthy (Daveed Diggs, Snowpiercer), tells the story of his and his brother's coming of age, on and off the court, as their father, a former professional basketball player, adjusts to life after basketball and their mom finally chasing her own lifelong dreams.
