The Eddy was conceived by Damien Chazell, who was originally responsible for movies such as La La Land and Whiplash. The cast consists of Andre Holland, Joanna Kulig, Tahar Rahim and Amandla Stenberg, among others. Next to Chazelle, who will also direct two episodes, Jack Thorne (His Dark Materials) will also participate in the production. The music is written by six-time Grammy winner Glen Ballard. The Eddy is set to release on the 8th of May.
The Eddy revolves around Elliot Udo (Andre Holland), a once-celebrated musician of New York, who currently owns an obscure jazz club in a multicultural area in Paris. Here has to deal with an amateur band which is led by his ex-girlfriend (Joanna Kulig), a business partner (Tahar Rahim) who's dealing with some criminals, and the sudden reappearance of his teenage daughter (Amandla Stenberg).
