The Irregulars

Very nice series for in between. Not too high-quality, but interesting enough to watch. Bit of a strange take on the Sherlock Holmes story. Somehow this seems a bit pulled in to give the series a familiar and appealing premise. But to be honest, in my opinion it has little to do with Sherlock Holmes. But maybe I don't know the lore about Holmes well enough. To make the series "relevant" they went out of their way to pretend that Victorian London was at least 50% people of color, including the upper class. Doesn't seem entirely historically correct to me. But other than that it looks good and the "monster of the week" stories are fun enough. The common thread in this season is developed very nicely and also has a satisfying ending. There are enough leads for a second season, but that won't happen, I read. Fortunately, we are not left with a cliffhanger. This season is great to watch on its own. If you have nothing to do for a few evenings and you like series with a paranormal edge, then this is definitely something for you.
