Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) will portray the lead characters in the series adaptation of the popular video game The Last of Us.
The story in The Last of Us (2021) takes place twenty years after the modern world has been destroyed. It is based on the video game with the same name that released in 2013. Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) will portray Joel, who has to smuggle a girl out of an oppressive quarantine. She is the last hope of humanity. The fourteen-year-old girl is portrayed by Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones). In order to survive, they have to trust each other.
Back in November 2020, HBO announced the new series. Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and Neil Druckmann (creator of the game) have written the story of the series. Kantemir Bagalov will direct the pilot. The series is a co-production between Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Word Games and Naughty Dog.
