Marion Cotillard cast in the fourth season of The Morning Show

The Morning Show ramps up its star power even further with the addition of Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard.

The actress will play a major role in season four of the Apple TV+ drama series. She will star as Celine Dumont, a smart operator from a famous European family.



Cotillard (pictured) joins the ensemble cast that includes Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, Jon Hamm and Nicole Beharie.

The Morning Show explores the cutthroat world of morning news and the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning. Season three once again left the fate of UBA up in the air after Alex (Aniston) managed to take out Paul Marks (Hamm) by blocking the sale of UBA to his tech company Hyperion. But now it appears that UBA will merge with another media company to keep the network afloat, which could mean layoffs and restructuring are coming in season four.

The series is produced by Witherspoon and Aniston, directed and directed by Mimi Leder, helmed by Michael Ellenberg, and produced by the studio Media Res, Hello Sunshine, a Candle Media company, and Echo Films.

Charlotte Stoudt, who has a multi-year overall agreement with Apple TV+ for scripted series, is showrunner and executive producer. Leder also produces and directs under a multi-year overall agreement with Apple TV+.

Cotillard became the second French actress to ever win an Academy Award and the first to win an acting award for a performance in the French language in 2018 for her role as Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose.

Cotillard can currently be seen in Mona Achache's docudrama Little Girl Blue. Based on true events from the director's own life, after the death of her mother (Cotillard), Achache discovers thousands of photos, letters and recordings of the matriarch - these hidden secrets make her disappearance even more mysterious. For her performance, Cotillard was nominated for a César Award in the Best Actress category.

Later this year she can be seen in Ellen Kuras's Lee alongside Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Andrea Riseborough and Josh O'Connor.
