Hulu cancels The Other Black Girl after one season

There will be no second season for The Other Black Girl. Hulu canceled the drama series after one season. Onyx Collective's original Hulu series followed Nella (Sinclair Daniel), an editorial assistant who is tired of being the only black girl at her company, Wagner Books. Everything looks good when Hazel (Ashleigh Murray) is hired, but as her star begins to rise, Nella spirals and discovers something sinister is going on at the company. And is Hazel friend or foe?



Based on the novel of the same name by Zakiya Dalila Harris, The Other Black Girl also stars Brittany Adebumola as Malaika, Hunter Parrish as Owen, Nella's boyfriend, Bellamy Young as Vera Parini, Wagner Books editor, Eric McCormack as Richard Wagner, the founder of Wagner Books, and Garcelle Beauvais as the famous author, Diana Gordon in leading roles.

Other roles include April Parker Jones as Kendra Rae Philips, Brian Baumgartner as Colin Franklin, Karina Willis as Shani Edmonds, Alyshia Ochse as Maisy Glendower, Kate Owens as Sophie and Langston Kerman as Jesse Watson.

Rashida Jones co-produced with Adam Fishbach, Zakiya Dalila Harris, Jordan Reddout, Gus Hickey, Tara Duncan and Temple Hill's Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, and Danielle Henderson. Author Harris and Jones co-wrote the pilot. Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey also served as co-showrunners.
