HBO Max shares first images of The Batman spin-off series The Penguin

The Penguin is coming to HBO Max soon, and the streaming service has released a first trailer and image for the series.
The eight-part DC Studios drama series starring Colin Farrell as The Penguin continues the epic Batman crime saga that filmmaker Matt Reeves began with Warner Bros. Pictures' worldwide blockbuster The Batman, and revolves around the character Farrell plays in the film. The premiere date for the series will be announced later.

The first look was revealed exclusively during Warner Bros. Discovery's unveiling of the Max streaming service on the Warner Bros. terrain in Los Angeles.

The previously announced cast includes Colin Farrell (True Detective), Cristin Milioti (The Resort), Rhenzy Feliz (Marvel's Runaways), Michael Kelly (House of Cards (2013)), Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Expanse) and Deirdre O'Connell ( Outer Range), which stars Clancy Brown (Dexter: New Blood) and Michael Zegen (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as recurring actors.

The series is produced by Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell, Lauren LeFranc, who writes and acts as showrunner, Craig Zobel (Mare of Easttown), who directs the first three episodes, and Bill Carraro.

Based on characters created for DC by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, The Penguin is produced by Reeves' 6th & Idaho Productions and Dylan Clark Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where Reeves and 6th & Idaho have an overall agreement. 6th & Idaho's Daniel Pipski is also an executive producer and Rafi Crohn is a co-executive producer.
