Four new actors added to season two of HBO Max series The Pitt

HBO Max's hit medical drama The Pitt is expanding its cast for its second season, adding four actors as recurring characters.
Charles Baker (Breaking Bad), Irene Choi (Truth Be Told (2019)), Laëtitia Hollard (Trauma (2018)) and Lucas Iverson (Frankenstein) will reprise their roles in season two of HBO's The Pitt, starring Noah Wyle.

While cast descriptions are subject to change, as usual, the following details are currently known. Charles Baker (pictured) plays Troy, a homeless man who has been forgotten by most people. He shows up as a patient in the emergency room. Irene Choi plays Joy, a third-year medical student with clear boundaries and an impressive medical knowledge—which surprisingly often verges on the macabre. Laëtitia Hollard plays Emma, a recent nursing graduate who is seen by some as naive, and Lucas Iverson plays James, a fourth-year medical student.

Created by R. Scott Gemmill ( ER) and executive produced by John Wells (Shameless (US), The West Wing), The Pitt is set in the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center and follows emergency room doctors and nurses in real time—hour by hour—as they manage medical emergencies and personal crises in a system strained by patient overload, staffing and resource shortages, and moral and ethical dilemmas in the workplace.

After the huge success of the first season — which received critical acclaim and won awards at the Gotham TV Awards — season two is poised for further recognition, including possible Emmy nominations.

According to R. Scott Gemmill, the second season will be set during the Fourth of July weekend and will feature a time jump from the first season, new characters and guest stars, and possible promotions within the main cast.
