Sepideh Moafi (Black Bird) has joined the cast of the hit medical drama series The Pitt on HBO Max, playing an emergency room physician.The Pitt follows the urgent challenges facing first responders across the United States, as seen through the lens of the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Using a real-time format, the series chronicles the hour-by-hour medical emergencies and personal crises that doctors and nurses must navigate — against a backdrop of overcrowded departments and chronic under-resources.
Sepideh Moafi (pictured) previously starred as the female lead in the Apple TV+ miniseries Black Bird and FX/Hulu’s Class of ’09. She is also known for her role as Gigi on Showtime’s The L Word: Generation Q. Her television work includes HBO’s The Deuce, USA Network’s Falling Water and ABC’s Notorious (2016).
The Pitt is created by R. Scott Gemmill and produced by John Wells. It stars Noah Wyle, who also serves as executive producer and screenwriter
Gemmill previously revealed that season two, currently in production, will be set during Fourth of July weekend. This new season will feature a time jump, introduce new characters and possibly feature promotions for existing cast members.
As confirmed earlier this month, Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard and Lucas Iverson have also been added to the returning cast.
